"Dave,
Just a short e-mail to tell you that I appreciate all the time you spent with me yesterday (2/27/08) and for your sincere attention to my issues. Having been a policeman for several years, I recognize certain things about people that others may not.  I appreciate the fact that I could talk to you openly about things that cause me difficulty and also about the things that cause me to feel less than normal.
I noticed that on the occasions I could not fully hear you, you made a noticeable effort to speak louder. I also felt that even the most minor of things were important for you to discuss with me as it related to my job.  I intend to contact you in the future when issues come up in my job that I have concerns about.
Thanks again for all your insight and experience."

"Dave Lafever came to my home to modify my bathroom. as well as recommend the installation of an electrical component so that I could open and close the door that is accessible for me to go in and out of my house. I have had an M.S. for over 22 years. I am confined to a power wheelchair. And easily accessible environment is "priceless" to consumers with disabilities such as I have."

"At the very first meeting with Dave, he was friendly and personable. He truly listened to my needs and concerns. It is so nice when a person is willing to listen to what you feel you need. He asks good questions to hone in on specific details which would provide the best solution to his client's needs. He presented himself as being meticulous in drawing the modification plans. His time useage was very efficient, indicating that he knows his business well. He anticipates any detail that might interfere with completion of the project. I found his communication skills, whether it be in person, by phone, or through the Internet to be timely and clear in their content. Dave closely checks the quality of work and precision of the construction crew completing his plans. Dave provided choices for color scheme and material selection. I particularly like him because he graduated from Purdue!"

"I was so delighted with the job completion, the timeliness, professional skills as well as the superior workmen skills. I would respond to any questions future customers might have."

"Living with Multiple Sclerosis has become a very challenging proposition, but the bathroom modification Dave layout for me has made that portion of my life much less challenging. The larger floor area makes it easy to maneuver the wheelchair around. The large open shower that replaced the tub makes that access a breeze."

"Dave has always been my "computer guy" and that’s how everyone associates him with me. He always returns my phone calls and e-mails with a basic solution for whatever problem I’m battling at the time. I use a sip-n-puff tube with a program called E Z Keys to access my computer and so many questions can come up that it seems impossible to concur. Whether it’s the body of the computer itself, a particular software, or a homework assignment, Dave has always been prompt in assisting me. He has worked with me when I was in a nursing home, at school, and now he’s helping me in my home and I would recommended him to anyone."

“There is no question that you played a major role in the successful resolution of our case. From the evaluation you conducted on the client’s home to the modification you proposed to accommodate her disability, the information you presented was thorough and understandable.”

“As a quadriplegic, Dave Lafever’s knowledge of being a rehabilitation engineer is greatly needed in my life. Dave’s assistance has allowed me to live more independently. Unlike other rehabilition engineers and institutes I have dealt with, Dave goes above and beyond to meet your needs. He listens to your needs, gives you several suggestions, and will even make or build you an item if need be. I would recommend Dave to anyone who needs assistance with technology and/or equipment.”

“Dave has always played such a vital role in developing, modifying, and adapting computer programs and equipment for our clients. Without his assistance, people could literally not have done the work that a job might have entailed. With his assistance, the barriers were removed, and the job tasks were possible. Dave’s creativity, persistence, determination, and knowledge were truly the key to many vocational success stories.”
